"We're born with rhythm in our hearts. As a percussionist i feel even more connected to pulse, vibration and movement. I wanted to write a piece with no rules and restrictions, but having rhythm as a core. I developed this piece with this idea in mind using polyrhythm and rhythmic counterpoint. Searching for a title i took a dictionary and looked up the word rhythm in all languages and i found out that the word for rhythm in Swahili is Dansi. I thought this word is a fitting title because of its visual connection to the english word dance and our natural perception of the pulse that flows through our bodies."
