"We’re born with rhythm in our hearts. We feel those pulsations even before we’re born. As a percussionist i feel even more connected to pulse, vibration and movement. I wanted to write a piece with no rules and restrictions, but having rhythm as a core. I developped this piece with this idea in mind using polyrhythm and rhythmic counter-point. Searching for a title I took a dictionary and looked up the word rhythm in all languages and I found out that the word for rhythm in Swahili is dansi. I thought this word is a fitting title because it’s close to the english word dance and because I find movement is the core of rhythm."
